Thank You, Guy Messenger!
Southeast Sales Director, Guy Messenger will be retiring after 30 years of service.
You may already be aware that effective the end of this year, 2010, our long-time Southeast Sales Director, Guy Messenger will be retiring. Guy
Messenger has been with Physical Electronics since June of 1980. He said in regards to joining PHI, "It is the best decision I ever made!" Guy has
been instrumental in building relationships and keeping a spectacular sales record in his territory for the past 30 years! Last week, Tuesday,
October 19, 2010 while at the AVS Symposium, PHI held a retirement dinner for Guy at the "El Pinto" restaurant in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Guy's
wife, Myrtis, accompanied him on the trip and was able to be present. As pictured below, many of Guy's fellow employees and friends had some
wonderful things to say about Guy, including long-time friend and former colleague, Jim Burkstrand, who was able to attend. Jim said that "All
salesmen have a rating factor when it comes to sales forecasts and when Guy said it was at 50% I figured the order was in the bag." Also, John
Hammond reminded everyone that Guy had set an all time record of 10 orders in the 1985 -1986 fiscal year and that he sold 10 XPS systems in one
year! The challenge back then was rewarded to Guy with some home baked raspberry pies. No raspberry pies were available in Albuquerque so the
company enjoyed a chocolate raspberry cake in Guy's honor.
We are very happy for Guy and all of his accomplishments over the years, and we wish him great enjoyment in his retirement!
